Jeff Colvin, CEO
Jeff brings 25 years of hands on Business and IT leadership with extensive experience in building and running companies. Jeff was an owner and Co-President of Rapidigm. He and his team helped build the 3rd largest privately held IT solutions company in the US, with over 2,000 employees and robust practices around SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft and offshore development, servicing clients in the Health Care, Manufacturing, Entertainment, Public Sector, and Financial industries. After selling Rapidigm to Fujitsu , Jeff became GM for the Western US for Fujitsu Consulting and was part of the executive team for M&A while overseeing a $400m a year P&L. Since 2008 Jeff has co-founded AGS consulting (a specialty SAP shop), merged it with Cignex, becoming CEO of the combined entity, and drove Cignex to be a global leader in Open Source technology. Cignex was sold in 2011. Jeff currently sits on the boards of Datavail and Estes group.
Russ Curran Founder
Russ is the founder of the Company, Chairman of the Board and leads the Company's business development and strategic activities. Russ has extensive experience in sales management, business operations and company development. Prior to AcuStream, Russ co-founded BD3 Partners, a business development firm that worked with entrepreneurs on establishing and developing market opportunities and financing for new technologies. Prior to BD3, Russ was a Vice President in the retail division of Smith Barney, Inc. where he founded the Retirement Planning Services Group. Prior to Smith Barney, Russ was in sales and then sales management at Lanier Worldwide where he consistently exceeded company sales records. Russ received a B.A. from Temple University.
Tristram E. Collins, Chief Financial Officer
Tris is a co-founder, founding investor and AcuStream's CFO. Tris oversees the Company's financial, legal and strategic activities. Tris is the founder and CEO of Great Point Holdings, LLC, a venture capital and strategic advisory firm based in New Jersey. Mr. Collins has an extensive financial and operational background and served as a Managing Director of Citigroup’s Investment Banking Division and sector head in the Media & Entertainment Group. Prior to Citigroup, Tris served in the investment banking groups at Merrill Lynch & Co., Smith Barney and Painewebber. Prior to his investment banking career, Tris founded and sold SafeOne Systems, Inc, a regional residential and light commercial security firm based in Hartford, CT. Tris received a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
Rick Rieger, Executive Vice President of Sales
Mr. Rieger oversees the Marketing and Sales Departments of AcuStream. Rick has over 20 years of sales, sales management and marketing experience within the medical industry. Rick recently was employed by Covidien where he worked as the Director of Strategic Accounts for the Imaging Division. Prior to joining Covidien, Rick worked with Medtronic Physio-Control where he utilized his EMT training to promote the use of manual and Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) throughout the Western United States. Earlier in his professional career, Rick was employed by IDEXX Laboratories and Abbott Laboratories where he was responsible for marketing chemistry and hematology equipment. Prior to entering the medical industry, Rick began his career with Lanier Worldwide. His diverse experience working in all departments of hospitals and Physician organizations have provided him with a unique understanding of the challenges currently facing the medical industry. Rick’s Scholastic background began in graduating from Choate Rosemary Hall and then receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree while majoring in marketing at George Washington University in Washington D.C. Rick serves on the Board of Ronald McDonald House based in Spokane, WA.
Woody Curran, VP of Data Product and Services
Woody focuses his efforts on product development and client services. Prior to AcuStream, Woody was a Senior Systems Analyst in the MIS group at Thomson Reuters (Healthcare & Science), an information services company providing data analysis and decision support information for professionals. Prior to Thomson Reuters, Woody was a consultant with IBM Global Services and Accenture focused on development and deployment of human resources and financial software solutions for clients in various industries. Woody practiced law in Colorado prior to entering the technology world. Woody received a BA from Yale University, a JD from the University of Colorado School of Law and MS in telecommunications from the University of Colorado.
Honorable Alphonso Maldon, Jr., VP of Public Sector
Mr. Alphonso Maldon, Jr. is the President and CEO, and Founder of Partnership Strategies Consulting; a Washington, DC based firm that enable the realization of goals, objectives and competitive advantage for its clients. Mr. Alphonso brings his many years of experience in both the public and private sphere to help development future business in both of these areas.
Mr. Maldon was the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Force Management and Policy from September 1998 until January 2001. As a Presidential appointee confirmed by the Senate, he was responsible for policies, plans, and programs for all military and civilian personnel management, including recruitment, education, career development, equal opportunity, compensation, recognition, discipline, and separation of all Department of Defense personnel.
From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Maldon served as the Deputy Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs and White House Congressional Liaison to the United States Senate and House of Representatives. As such he was responsible for legislative issues in both the House and Senate involving Trade, Banking and Financial Services, Defense, International Affairs, Intelligence, and Veterans Affairs. In March 1993, Mr. Maldon was appointed as Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs and served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of the White House Military Office.
Mr. Maldon entered active duty service in 1972 and completed his military career with an assignment to the United States House of Representatives as the Deputy Director for Army Legislative Affairs in February 1993.
He is the recipient of the Distinguished Civilian Public Service Medal and of numerous military decorations including the Legion of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (with two Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Commendation Medal and the U.S. Army Staff Badge. Mr. Maldon is the recipient of the United States Congressional Award for Leadership and Patriotism. Mr. Maldon serves on the board of directors for the D.C. Chamber of Commerce, Industrial Bank, CM2 and the Advisory Board for Enterprise Information Management.
Mr. Maldon is a Founding Partner of the Major Leagues Washington National Baseball Club. He is the former Senior Vice President, External Affairs and President of the Dream Foundation for the Washington Nationals Baseball Club.
Edward Jung
Edward Jung founded Intellectual Ventures after leaving Microsoft Corporation where he was chief architect and advisor to executive staff. At Intellectual Ventures, Mr. Jung also serves as the chief technology officer, setting strategic technology direction for the company.
During his 10 years at Microsoft, Mr. Jung managed projects relating to Web platforms, semantic web technology, intelligent operating systems, adaptive user interfaces and artificial intelligence. Jung co-founded many Microsoft teams including Windows NT, Microsoft Research, mobile and consumer products, and web services. Before joining Microsoft in February 1990, Mr. Jung ran the Deep Thought Group, working on neural network chips for learning and parallel computation. He also consulted to and wrote software for NeXT Computer, Apple Computer and its Advanced Technology Group, and the Open Software Foundation.
An avid inventor, Mr. Jung holds more than 100 patents worldwide and has more than 900 patents pending. His issued patent holdings are in a variety of areas including biomedical research instruments and neural networks as well as several fundamental patents in object technology, distributed operating systems and semantic data analysis. Mr. Jung's biomedical research work in protein structure and function has been published in several journals including the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and the Journal of Biochemistry.
Currently Mr. Jung is a strategic advisor to Harvard Medical School, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the Institute for Systems Biology where he advises on future synergies between biology and information technology.
Mr. Jung is also personally committed to several non-profit projects involving technology and science education, and he consults to the Asia Pacific Federation, the Aspen Institute, the China Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences, the World Economic Forum and the World Health Organization.
Robert Pevenstein
Robert Pevenstein is an experienced senior level executive with deep financial and operational experience across multiple industries. Mr. Pevenstein was most recently Chairman of Quadramed Corporation (AMEX:QDHC). Quadramed is a leading provider of innovative healthcare information technology and services to the hospital industry. Mr. Pevenstein also serves as a board member of the Board of Regents of the University of Maryland Medical System. Mr. Pevenstein was also a former Chief Financial Officer of United Nuclear Corporation where he led a decade long transformation of the company from a uranium mining and submarine nuclear reactor manufacturing company to a leader in aviation services and manufacturing.
Marc Meyer
Marc Meyer is Matthews Distinguished University Professor at Northeastern University (Boston, MA), head of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation group, and director of the High Technology MBA Program, which serves engineering, IT, and biotech managers and provides executive education in the New England technology region. Dr. Meyer was a co-founder of VenturCom (now Ardence), board member and advisor to more than a dozen technology ventures, and has worked closely with companies such as IBM, Hewlett Packard, Masterfoods, and McKesson on next generation product, systems, and services development.
